The AUT Operator is responsible for using a specific NDT technique (AUT) to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key HSE and Quality responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation of the Oceaneering HSE & Quality Core Processes and HSE & Quality objectives and Action Improvement plans;
• Providing support for the Oceaneering Crisis Management Team, where required;
• Involvement in the review and approval process for corporate and site Management System documentation;
• Support & participate in HSE & Quality Audits;
• Responsibility for his/her own health and safety and that of other persons affected by his/her activities; and
• For managers and supervisors, actively leading HSE & Quality initiatives and demonstrating HSE & Quality leadership; and
  

Responsibilities and key performance indicators

• Define the limitations of application of the testing method
• Set up and verify equipment settings
• Perform and supervise tests
• Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures
• Ensure all AUT equipment is suitable and operational during the project
• Maintain AUT systems
• Ensure work is performed expeditiously and in accordance with agreed procedures
• Reporting relevant data clearly and accurately and daily electronic backups are made Maintain logs of component changes and repairs to AUT equipment.
• Report the results of NDT

Qualifications
Qualifications Mandatory

• Trained and examined as an ASNT and/or CSWIP AUT Operator and Interpreter and holding current certification in same (PCN or ASNT qualified in UT)
• CSWIP or ASNT qualified in PA AUT

Desirable Depending on NDT Level, the below are the testing methods requiring certification. An AUT Operator may have 1 or more of the following:

• Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
• Advanced Methods
• Eddy Current Testing (ET)
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Radiographic testing & work safely with ionizing radiation (RT)
• Welding Supervision
• Welding Inspection
• Australian Institute for Certification of Inspection Personnel (AICIP)
• Coatings Inspection
• MFLl Tank Inspection
• Post Weld Heat Treatment
• Phased Array
• TOFD
• API Certified Tank Inspection
• Formal Management Training

• Be familiar with Pipewizard, UT systems
• Have a knowledge of calibration periods for NDT equipment
• Be competent at using equipment on Automated systems

Experience

• Experience with PipeWizard Phased Array AUT system and trained in its set up, use and maintenance
• Experience with onshore pipeline NDT
