Role: Backend Developer

Overview: You will work in a backend dev role in a small team environment.

Possible Responsibilities:

• you will be responsible for the web and mobile apps and their operations
• CI/CD and DevOps - ensure sites are up and respond to any bugs or issues
• manage Android and App Store app releases
• feature improvements - implement fixes and enhancements on existing features
• design and implementation of new features
• User Interface (front end fixes)
• Translate user requirements into easy-to-use product features

Essential requirements:

• Good listener, team player
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to manage your own work schedule
• Attention to detail
• Reliability and timeliness
• Work remotely and have your own computer initially

Technical Skills:

• Python Django web framework
• Django rest framework (rest APIs)
• Docker container environments
• Make commands and bash scripts, cron jobs
• Sentry error management
• PGSQL (basic)
• Google Play Store / Apple App Store product releases and management
• React Native (mobile app) (optional)
• Knowledge of geo-django e.g. GDAL desirable.
