At Caterpillar’s Indonesia Batam, we manufacture Hydraulic Shovels products used in building the infrastructure and mining to move materials that make a better world. As a Manufacturing Technician at Caterpillar Indonesia Batam, you will assist with technical analysis of manufacturing processes in all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance with safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is available for this position.

What You Will Do:

• Read, understand, and relate the engineering drawings to the Machining sequence and process.

• Develop working instructions, covering tooling or machining practice, ergonomics, workmanship standards, and process documents, and ensure they are followed.

• Fully participate as required in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities where machining operations are required.

• Evaluate engineering change notices, determine any part or process change, initiate and implement all changes.

What You Have:

• Good proficiency in English.

• Having experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), creating or modifying Numerical Controls (NC) programming, and cutting tools selection and optimization.

• Knowledge or experience in PFMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plan, IPV (In-Process Validation), and standard work.

Degree and Experience Requirement:

• Have experience in Machining or related experience.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of experience or a university degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering fresh graduate.

Top Candidates Will Also Bring:

• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment especially heavy industries with machining process.

• Proficiently in computer-assisted design (CAD) like Creo.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):

• This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
