We PT SIIX Electronics Indonesia is currently looking for Injection Experienced Injection Molding Tooling Engineer.

INJECTION MOLDING TOOLING ENGINEER

A tooling engineer specializing in injection molding designs, develops, and maintains injection molds and related tooling. They ensure that these tools are efficient, reliable, and meet production requirements, often working with CAD/CAM software, mold flow analysis, and various manufacturing processes. They also play a crucial role in troubleshooting and optimizing the injection molding process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Design and Development: Involved during DFM activities stage for reviewing the tooling design and developing injection molds, ensuring they meet product specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.

  • Mold Flow Analysis: Utilizing 3D software like Moldflow to simulate the mold filling process and identify potential issues before the tooling is built.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues related to tooling and injection molding processes. Communicate with outsource toolmaker to determine how to do the tooling repair method.

  • Process Optimization: Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the injection molding process through data analysis and experimentation.

  • Quality Control: Ensuring that the final molded parts meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with Siix Singapore technical section & outsource Toolmakers (Product designers, manufacturing engineers, and other stakeholders) to ensure successful product development and launch.

  • Project Management: Managing tooling projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Perform regular Mold Preventive Maintenance: Monitor the tooling shot life for each mold and mold inventory control.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Min. 4~5+ years of experience in plastic injection molding, tooling design, and/or process engineering.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (like SolidWorks, NX, or AutoCAD) for mold design is crucial. Knowledge of mold flow analysis software (like Autodesk Moldflow or Moldex3D) is also highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of Injection Molding: Understanding of the injection molding process, including material properties, mold design principles, and tooling construction.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and vendors.

  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Tooling spare part management and control.

  • Knowledge of Quality Control: Understanding quality control processes, standards, and tools (like SPC, DOE, GD&T, APQP, and PPAP) is important.

  • Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 13485 (Medical Device).
