Marine Surveyor and Adjuster (Chemical Engineering)
Role Overview
Reporting to the head of Marine Cargo Department, the Marine Surveyor & Adjuster investigates insurance claims on behalf of the insurer. They conduct on-site survey and review supporting documents of the damaged object to obtain all necessary facts once a claim is logged.
Responsibility:
To conduct investigation on cargo damages, hull and machinery damages, contaminations, infestations, or any other type of detriment involving general cargo, containerized cargo, bulk cargo, liquid/petroleum cargo, or any other types of cargo.
To attend on cargo, hull and damage surveys as and when required.
To prepare the necessary attendance advice, preliminary reports, and final survey/adjustment reports in a timely manner and in accordance with the guidelines set out in the SOP.
To attend to risk management surveys if required and again ensure reports issued in a timely manner in accordance with the SOP.
To be available to attend surveys outside working hours and on weekends (public holidays) as and when required and to ensure when working outside the office that your movements reported to the office via text or e-mail on a daily basis, at least.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from overseas university (degrees taught in English).
Highly proficient in English, reflected by IELTS score 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 100 or TOEFL PBT 600
Prepared to work as a team, willing to travel throughout Indonesia particularly in remote area and work in flexi-time hours.
Computer Literate, willing to work under tight deadline and adapt to desk-bound and remote working scheme.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, dynamic, and proactive.
