Maths Teacher

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching A/AS Level or IGCSE Mathematics and a strong desire to inspire students through thoughtful, concept-driven instruction.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and assign engaging homework and assessments that support learning objectives.

• Teach both lecture and lab components of upper-level mathematics courses.

• Develop course content, syllabi, handouts, and maintain accurate student records.

• Select and utilize appropriate textbooks and teaching materials collaboratively.

• Evaluate and grade students coursework, assignments, and examinations.

• Maintain regular office hours to advise and assist students academically.

• Actively participate in relevant conferences and maintain professional development through appropriate memberships.

• Support student placement and academic planning when appropriate.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Attend staff and curriculum planning meetings.

• Collaborate in ongoing curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as the position evolves, particularly within the LBIS program.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Mathematics at A/AS Level or IGCSE.

• Strong command of English; all lessons are delivered in English.

• CIE (Cambridge International Education) training in Mathematics or Physics preferred.

• Creative, team-oriented, and enthusiastic about working with young learners.

• Responsible, motivated, and capable of managing workload under pressure.

Capabilities:

• Ability to teach Pure Mathematics and Statistics, experience with Further/Additional Mathematics will be an advantage.

• Strong focus on teaching students on reasoning and the “Why” and “How” of mathematics, encouraging critical thinking rather than memorization. 

• Demonstrated passion for mathematics and the ability to connect theory to real world applications effectively and with ease.

• Passion for teaching A/AS level and IGCSE level students as well and passion for encouraging students towards excellence, hard work, perseverance, and pushing themselves beyond where they think they can go.

• Familiarity with administrative and academic policies related to A/AS level and/or IGCSE frameworks.
