Barista

1. Position Information

Position: Barista

Department: Operations

Reports To: Store Supervisor / Outlet Manager

Job Purpose:

To create a pleasant customer experience by preparing high-quality beverages and delivering fast, friendly, and professional service according to coffee shop standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Product:

- Prepare coffee and non-coffee beverages following standard recipes.

- Calibrate espresso machines and grinders daily.

- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of products.

- Interest with manual brewing (Moka Pot, V60 and French Press)

2. Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly and professionally.

- Offer product recommendations to customers.

- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with appropriate solutions.

3. Cleanliness and Sanitation:

- Keep bar area and tools clean at all times.

- Follow food safety practices and personal hygiene standards.

- Have high an awareness to all café area.  

4. Stock & Preparation:

- Prepare ingredients before operations begin (prep).

- Check daily inventory and Reorder if necessary.

- Store ingredients according to FIFO standards and correct temperature.

5. Team Collaboration:

- Work with FOH and BOH teams for smooth operations.

- Attend daily briefings and follow supervisor instructions.

- Support teammates during busy hours and shift rotations.

6. SOP Compliance:

- Follow SOPs for product preparation, service, and safety.

- Use equipment properly and safely.

- Report any technical or operational issues to supervisor.

3. Skills and Attitude

- Communicative, friendly, and responsive.

- Able to work quickly and multitask under pressure.

- Neat, disciplined, and detail-oriented.

- Team player with a positive attitude.

- Have A PROACTIVE ATTITUDE and BE PRESENT

- Have attention to detail and awareness of the equipment used for store operations.

- Demonstrates strong communication skills with all department heads and shows initiative by asking questions when clarification is needed.

- Willing to receive feedback and adapt to improvement suggestions.

4. Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

- Previous experience as a barista or in a café setting is a plus (training available).

- Barista certification or coffee training (a plus but not required).

- Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

- Physically able to stand for long periods and perform hands-on tasks.

- Enjoys working in a team and contributing to a positive café atmosphere.

- Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
