Fit Technician for Fashion Apparel

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• Responsible for supporting & executing the Product development function in ensuring that all garments of the correct fit, look & style in partnership with Quality and Buying team.

• He / She will work with sourcing, quality and buying teams to elevate supply chain to the next level through Product development, vendor management & strategic business initiatives.

• Responsible for the orientation of new factories and education of existing factories on safety and technical competence on a regular basis. Also responsible for inspection of finished products for Critical styles.

• Interfaces with merchandisers, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers for quality improvement and problems for specific inspection programs.

• Assists in implementation of quality control, inspection policies and procedures as directed by senior management to ensure conformity with legal and corporate specifications and standard.

• Conducts initial smell test and evaluation of potential new vendors in the areas of production capacity, production safety requirement and quality performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Product quality o Experience of fit development and approval process thought evaluating / fitting / making necessary correction and getting the desired fit on all samples in the sample matrix.

• To Develop new fit based on Market demand through collaboration with Buying, Quality and external teams including Fit development agencies.

• To get pattern corrections done in order to achieve desired fit and look based on business demand o To identify and communicate corrections, modifications & approvals of pattern & samples to the vendor through approved means of communication o Achieve the required quality standards through empowerment programs.

• Drive and engage team to conduct process audits to ensure vendor processes deliver good quality product.

• Take commercially acceptable decisions on the product quality aligning with buying teams.

• Standardize quality and supply base of trims and accessories

• Monitor adherence to SOP, take corrective actions for deviations and update SOP accordingly

• Review Quality Audit and Lab report and take required actions

• Monitor product complaints and ensure CAP from vendors to help improve

• Monitor option plan for the season

• Vendor training on specific processes and procedures as required e.g. train Fit technician & vendor on CLO and other Virtual fitting software based on business needs.

• Investigate Quality issues cases

• Conducts Risk analysis gives input on feasibility of the style and checks if style matches Vendor capability.

• Vendor Evaluation o Evaluate vendor capability

• Benchmark Vendors within Bangladesh and against global Vendors by product capability

• Customize Onboarding Training of Vendors based on Evaluation and performance

• Successfully Launch and implement the CFA program phase wise.

• Support sourcing in identifying New vendors for cost optimization.

• Support Sourcing on all sustainability initiatives o Ensure strategic vendors reach a Silver status.

• Develop vendors in terms of process and product capability.

• Deliver on set KPI for quality for the region

TECHNICAL SUPPORT:

• Provide Technical assistance to factories

• Recommend corrective action in quality issues to factories.

• Implement and enforce QA system and product safety policies.

• Ensures team fully understands process tools and techniques.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• In-depth knowledge of garment construction and technical design & fabric knowledge.

• Experience with fitting procedures

• Ability to work both independently and with others in a team environment.

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative & good time management skills.

• Detailed oriented, with accuracy and precision.

• Works with a high sense of urgency & integrity & is motivated by new challenges.

• At least 10 years of experience working in Apparel industry in a technical capacity (strong understanding of apparel manufacturing, product engineering, grading.)

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and influencing skills.

• Production floor experience in a factory is required.

• Ability to adapt and positive attitude for learning.

• A strong drive for results.

• Basic computer skills on excel.

• Excellent word processing and strong communication (verbal & written)
