Port Captain / Marine Superintendent

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as marine transportation, nautical science, or maritime studies.
• Professional Certification: such as a Master Mariner License or Chief Mate License, issued by the appropriate maritime authority.
• Experience as Port Captain / Marine Superintendent for Tug Boat 
• Experience: several years of experience as a ship captain or officer on vessels of similar size and type to the companys fleet. Experience in ship operations, cargo handling, and navigation is highly valued.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and managerial skills are necessary to effectively coordinate and supervise the activities of port personnel, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with safety regulations.
• Knowledge of Maritime Regulations: must have a comprehensive understanding of national and international maritime regulations, including safety protocols, environmental standards, port security, and customs procedures.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skill with various stakeholders, including crew members, port authorities, shipping agents, and clients. Good interpersonal skills for building relationships and resolving conflicts efficiently.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Abilities: Should possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle emergencies, prioritize tasks, and address operational challenges effectively.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with modern navigation systems, cargo handling equipment, and vessel maintenance practices . Understand the technical aspects of the vessels to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
• Physical Fitness: Good health and physical fitness are important for performing duties that involve inspections, vessel surveys, and emergency response.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required to facilitate effective communication with multinational crews, port authorities, and clients.
