Job Summary:
The Seller is responsible for driving sales and ensuring excellent customer service in the restaurant by promoting and selling food and beverage products. This role involves actively engaging with customers, understanding their preferences, recommending menu items, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The Seller works closely with the restaurants front-of-house staff and kitchen team to meet sales goals and provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Promotion: Actively promote and sell food and beverage items on the menu, offering upsell suggestions where appropriate (e.g., desserts, beverages, specials).
Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, provide detailed menu information, answer questions about menu items, and ensure a positive dining experience.
Order Management: Accurately take customer orders and communicate them effectively to kitchen and bar staff.
Product Knowledge: Develop an in-depth understanding of the restaurants offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials to provide informed recommendations to guests.
Payment Processing: Handle customer payments, process credit card transactions, and provide change accurately.
Sales Goals: Work towards meeting individual and team sales targets, including upselling and driving promotions.
Customer Engagement: Establish rapport with guests to encourage return visits and build customer loyalty.
Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, bar, and service stations. Ensure all food and beverage areas are well-stocked and organized.
Feedback Collection: Collect customer feedback and pass on to the management team to improve service quality and menu offerings.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Inventory: Assist in inventory management, including ensuring that sufficient stock is available for service and making recommendations for reordering when necessary.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong sales ability and a proactive attitude towards upselling.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
A passion for food, beverages, and providing exceptional customer service.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Knowledge of various food and beverage pairings.
Multilingual skills a plus.
