Client Description

The organization is a global leader in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the energy sector. They are currently managing a high-profile energy infrastructure development, specifically the LNG Canada Phase-2 Project, involving massive international coordination and multi-yard module fabrication.

Scope

• Lokasi Strategy: The role begins at the Yokohama Operation Centre (Japan) before transitioning to Module Fabrication Yards in China.
• Role Purpose: Acts as the strategic oversight lead for Project Controls across all module and piping fabrication yards during the LNTP and EPC stages.
• Work Intensity: Standard 40 hours per week while in Japan, increasing to 60 hours per week when stationed at the fabrication yards in China.
• Target Pool: Open to global candidates of any nationality.

Key Responsibilities

• Multi-Yard Oversight: Manage and lead Yard Control Managers and Project Control teams across various international fabrication sites and piping prefabrication shops.
• Standardization & Reporting: Develop and enforce universal reporting formats for all yards; analyze collected data to provide direction and summarize the Monthly Progress Report for the client.
• Schedule & Productivity Control: Monitor actual vs. planned productivity; develop immediate countermeasures or recovery plans if fabrication progress is delayed.
• Data Integration: Coordinate with global Operation Centres to collect progress data (including Primavera P6 files) to incorporate into the master project schedule.
• Logistics Alignment: Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics teams to align module load-out schedules with vessel availability and site readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in the Oil & Gas construction business.
• At least 8 years of specific experience in Project Control, Planning, or Construction/Project Engineering.
• Mandatory Background: Previous work experience specifically within a Module Fabrication Yard environment is required.
• Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Advanced skills in Power BI and Power Query for data visualization and automated reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with Board-level stakeholders and external client representatives.
