We’re looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to help strengthen the financial backbone of MASH. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the realities of a people business where talent is the service, margins move with utilisation and resourcing decisions, and delivery spans retainers, campaigns, and project-based work.
You will work closely with the CFO and cross-functional business leaders to build stronger financial structures, improve reporting, and bring more rigour to budgeting, forecasting, and client cost management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both setting up the right systems and staying close to the detail – from payroll and AP/AR through to board-level reporting and commercial analysis
Financial Analysis, Reporting & Commercial Support
- Partner with the CFO to prepare client, business and board-level reporting, turning financial data into clear decision-making insights.
- Build and maintain financial models that improve visibility on revenue, gross profit margin, utilisation, delivery costs, and business performance across different types of work.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, with a strong understanding of how people costs, project timelines, and delivery models affect profitability.
- Analyse financial performance across retainers, campaigns, and project-based engagements, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Help bring greater consistency and discipline to financial analysis across the business, creating reporting that is both commercially useful and leadership-ready.
Financial Operations, Systems & Process Design
- Build financial structures and support the ongoing maintenance of systems, processes, and controls that help the business scale with more clarity and less manual work.
- Oversee or support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and payment management.
- Bring structure to finance operations by improving workflows, documentation, and month-end readiness across core finance activities.
- Work with internal stakeholders to create more joined-up ways of working between Finance, Brand, Client Delivery, Talent Solutions and Operations.
- Identify opportunities to use AI and automation in finance, whether in reporting, reconciliations, forecasting support, or workflow improvement.
Payroll, Cost Estimates & Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Oversee APAC payroll processes, with a clear understanding of regional complexity, accuracy requirements, and coordination across 10+ markets, heavily reliant on EOR systems and processes.
- Work with the Delivery Lead and Talent Director to help manage client cost estimates, budgets, rate cards and delivery assumptions, ensuring commercial decisions are grounded in strong financial logic.
- Review and challenge cost structures where needed, including talent costs, freelance/ resource planning assumptions, and project budget movements.
- Act as a thought partner to the business on how to improve financial visibility in a talent-led, service-based environment.
- Help ensure that finance is not just reporting the numbers, but actively supporting better business decisions.
About You
- 6–10+ years of experience in finance, financial analysis, FP&A, or commercial finance, ideally within an agency, consultancy, professional services, media, marketing, or other people-led service business.
- Strong understanding of how a people business works financially — including utilisation, resource costs, delivery margins, retainers, campaigns, and project-based revenue while navigating complex multi-national finance systems and operations.
- Proven experience building and maintaining financial structures, reporting models, and operational finance processes.
- Hands-on experience with APAC payroll, and a good understanding of regional complexity in multi-market people operations. Ideally, experience with EORs (Employer on Record) at scale.
- Strong working knowledge of Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable and the operational discipline required to keep the finance engine running smoothly.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to move between spreadsheets (Google Sheets!), business context, and leadership conversations with ease.
- Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and translating financial detail into commercially relevant recommendations, often communicating with clients directly.
- Curious and forward-thinking in how AI can support finance, and confident experimenting with smarter ways to improve speed, visibility, and accuracy.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where systems are evolving, and priorities shift.
