We are seeking a Government Affairs Manager in Jakarta who will report to the Head of Government Affairs, APAC. This role will help drive the development and execution of a proactive engagement strategy and advocate for Apples policy positions to government and other stakeholders.
Description
The Government Affairs Manager will help develop and implement the companys government engagement and advocacy strategy in Indonesia. They will be a member of the APAC Government Affairs team and report to the Head of Government Affairs, APAC. They will work closely with in-country and regional teams to protect and promote the companys interests, and advance our policy positions with key government stakeholders in Indonesia.
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments in the country that may impact Apples business;
- Identify and approach government agencies closely related to Apples businesses in your country, at both local and central levels.
- Regularly engage and coordinate with key stakeholders to secure government approvals, policy support and regulatory permits.
- Assist in interpreting and assessing impact of the laws and regulations, and provide GA advice for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor the changes to public policies, organizational structures, decision making process,
- Support and work with the Apple teams for communications and all other issues.
- Connect with global, regional and local industry and trade associations.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, with extensive experience in a government affairs function for a multinational corporation, industry association, or government agency that engages regularly with the private sector.
- Deep understanding of government affairs in Indonesia, including government relations, policy advocacy and crisis/issues management.
- Experience working with government agencies, legislatures, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
- Strong ability to distill complex ideas or issues into effective, clear, concise, and actionable campaigns and content.
- Ability to build consensus or coalitions of like-minded companies to address key policy/regulatory issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, preferably in economics, political science, public policy, law, or international relations.
- Candidate must be flexible, resourceful, self-motivated, and be able to consistently exercise sound judgment; have a strong sense of responsibility, and work with minimal direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the technology sector will be a plus, or familiarity with policies that may impact the technology sector or Apple.
- Be a collaborative individual able to advise and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and integrity.
- Be willing and able to work in high-stress, high-pressure situations.
- Be a strong teammate - able to jump in on projects as needed.
- Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for Apples business and goals.
- A Masters degree or equivalent experience will be a plus.
