The Anti-DDoS L2 Engineer will provide operational support for managing, configuring, and optimizing Arbor Networks DDoS protection solutions, ensuring the security and availability of enterprise networks against Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Netscout Arbor Anti-DDoS Administration & Monitoring

• Configure, manage, and optimize Arbor TMS and Arbor Sightline for DDoS mitigation.
• Monitor traffic patterns, detect anomalies, and mitigate volumetric, protocol-based, and application-layer DDoS attacks.
• Implement best practices for DDoS attack prevention, detection, and response.
• Work closely with ISPs and internal teams to ensure effective traffic routing and scrubbing.

2. DDoS Incident Response & Threat Mitigation

• Investigate escalated DDoS security events and take corrective actions.
• Implement traffic filtering policies, rate limiting, and blackholing techniques to mitigate attacks.
• Work with SOC teams to correlate DDoS attack patterns and optimize detection mechanisms.

3. Security Policy Tuning & Optimization

• Perform ongoing analysis of DDoS threats and adjust BGP Flowspec, ACLs, and countermeasures.
• Maintain whitelists, blacklists, and threshold tuning for better attack identification and filtering.
• Review logs, dashboards, and NetFlow/SFlow data for performance analysis.
• Ensure Arbor Peakflow/Sightline configurations align with security best practices.

4. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure DDoS defense mechanisms comply with industry standards.
• Document incident response workflows, runbooks, and playbooks for security operations.
• Assist in security audits and risk assessments by providing DDoS attack reports and mitigation logs.

5. Performance Monitoring & System Health Checks

• Conduct regular health checks on Arbor TMS and Sightline appliances.
• Apply firmware updates, security patches, and software upgrades.
• Work on scalability and high availability configurations to ensure continuous protection.

Qualifications & Skill

· Hands-on experience with Netscout Arbor solutions (Sightline, TMS).

· Knowledge of DDoS attack techniques (volumetric, application-layer, protocol-based attacks).

· Expertise in BGP, Flowspec, NetFlow, SFlow, and GRE tunneling.

· Proficiency in traffic engineering, rate limiting, and anomaly detection.

· Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, BGP routing, and ISP-level traffic filtering.

· Familiarity with SIEM tools, log analysis

Certificates : 

• Arbor Certified Specialist (ACS) - (Preferred)
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security (For networking knowledge)
• CompTIA Security+ / CEH / CISSP (For broader security expertise)
