Network Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting an organization's network infrastructure. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-based network environments. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, managing network devices, monitoring performance, and implementing solutions to support business operations.
The Network Engineer applies technical expertise and industry best practices to configure, optimize, and secure network systems while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure reliable connectivity and infrastructure stability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and load balancers
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, routing, switching, and security-related issues
• Install, configure, and support network hardware and software components
• Manage network security policies, firewall rules, access controls, and VPN connectivity
• Perform network capacity planning, upgrades, and performance optimization
• Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and QoS
• Support cloud networking environments including Azure, AWS, and hybrid network infrastructures
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for network incidents
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve infrastructure issues
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives
• Manage network monitoring tools and proactively identify potential issues
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes through ticketing systems
• Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical network incidents and maintenance activities
• Stay current with emerging networking technologies and industry best practices
Work Environment:
• Office-based role with occasional travel to data centers or remote office Lokasis
• May require after-hours, weekend, or on-call support during maintenance windows and critical incidents
• Works closely with global infrastructure and IT support teams
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Administration, or Infrastructure Support
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, and network protocols
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar vendors
• Experience configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and network security solutions
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Experience supporting wireless network environments and access point deployments
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts in Azure, AWS, or hybrid infrastructures
• Understanding of network security best practices and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certifications
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies
• Knowledge of network automation and scripting tools
• ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL environments
Additional Skills & Competencies:
• Advanced knowledge of network architecture, design, and implementation
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, and other routing and switching protocols
• Experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS, FortiOS, Palo Alto PAN-OS, or similar platforms
• Expertise in firewall administration, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and network security controls
• Hands-on experience with VPN technologies including Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPNs
• Knowledge of wireless networking standards and wireless security protocols
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark, or similar solutions
• Familiarity with cloud networking services in Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
• Understanding of SD-WAN, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and Zero Trust architectures
• Experience with load balancing technologies and high-availability network designs
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, QoS, and network segmentation
• Familiarity with network automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
• Experience with data center networking and virtualization technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, enterprise-level environment
