Project Manager Voice for Equality

BACKGROUND

YPII with funded by the EU, will implement the Voice for Equality project; empowering Civil Society Organization (CSO) in Indonesia for Gender Base Violence (GBV) prevention and response. This project aims to strengthen the capacity and enabling environment for CSOs in advancing womens and girls agency, transforming harmful gender norms, rebalancing power relations, and building effective, inclusive, and community-rooted prevention and response mechanisms against GBV. In line with the OECD DAC Gender Equality Policy Marker (G2), the action seeks to make gender equality a primary objective.

  • Womens groups will be empowered to expand Integrated Service Centers and launch local campaigns, addressing structural barriers such as economic dependency and stigma.
  • Youth groups, particularly girls and young men, will engage in educational campaigns, leadership training, and extracurricular activities focused on GBV, Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), online safety, and positive masculinities.
  • Local CSOs will receive tailored support to deliver GBV services to underserved, remote communities.
  • People with disabilities and LGBTQIA+ groups will be included through inclusive service design and targeted CSO training to address their unique vulnerabilities.

This project will work with partner KAPAL Perempuan and 10 other CSOs across Indonesia. Which has an experience program related to child protection and GBV.

ROLE PURPOSE

This project directly supports YPIIs commitment to gender equality, child rights, promoting girls/women leadership, as well as GBV. YPII has strong experience and expertise on child protection, gender equality, and SRHR as well as advocacy regarding preventing child marriage.

The project manager is responsible for the project management stages:

  • Designing for the growth of the program portfolio through proposal development and ideation, and other supporting documents, such as case studies and lessons learned,
  • Planning stage on preparing the project document and internal processes, as well as developing exit strategy and project sustainability plan, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders,
  • Implementation stage on project activities and deliveries including archiving and Participatory Monitoring, Evaluation, Reflection, and Learning (PMERL),
  • Monitoring, evaluation and research,
  • Closing stage which include final reporting, handover asset and close-out workshop. S/he will support the influencing work to strengthen the Plans position on PSHEA and GBV networks at the national level.

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Report directly to the Program Manager
  • Supervise 2 project coordinators (NTT and NTB)
  • Work Closely with Partners KAPAL Perempuan
  • Close coordination with MER Specialist and Finance Coordinator

TEHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

Desirable

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in social work on child protection program, Gender equality, advocacy, in the development and humanitarian sector (as a plus point)
  • Strong understanding and experience working with the EU as a donor (compliance, accountability, and reporting) - or any other major donors, as well as able to provide technical guidance and monitoring to local implementing partners
  • Adept at technology, such as Microsoft Office, Google Forms, and meeting platforms such as Zoom
  • Familiar and passionate about working with a variety of partners. Skilled in facilitating workshops, training, consultation, dialogue, and
  • Understanding GEDSI and child rights framework/guidance at the global or national level. Knowing advocacy tools like policy briefs, stakeholder mapping, or position papers.
  • Able to develop reporting (narrative including stories) based on donor requirements.
  • Good command of English, written and spoken, is highly desired, good writing skills, familiarity with development sector terms is highly desired
  • Familiarity with gender equality, disability, and social inclusion.
  • Team player with good communication skills. Proven ability to work under pressure with multiple concurrent demands

Location: The duty station is in Country Office, Jakarta with travel request to project area implementation.

Type of Role: 1-year Fixed-term contract (PKWT)
