This position provides financial, accounting and other technical analysis and interpretation of complex gas and electric utility regulatory matters and other energy-related issues for the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.
Job SummaryThe Public Utilities Commission will be filling one vacancy at either the Financial Analyst 2 or Financial Analyst 3 classification level based on the education and experience of the successful candidate.
Job Duties:
Minimum qualifications for Financial Analyst 2: Two years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance or economics performing analysis, exercising judgment, and applied knowledge in auditing, corporate accounting or utility regulation.
Minimum qualifications for Financial Analyst 3: Three years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance or economics performing analysis, exercising judgment, and applied knowledge in auditing, corporate accounting or utility regulation.
A Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business or a closely related field may substitute for 18 months of experience. A Bachelor's degree in the above areas may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred QualificationsThis position requires successful completion of a reference check and background screening.
