Pixel8Labs is looking for a Software Engineer who loves building good applications, web2 or web3. You'll work on a range of projects, from degen products to early MVPs, reporting directly to our CTO. We build fast and ship often. You'll lean on AI coding tools to move quickly, but the quality bar is on you.
Responsibilities
• End-to-end implementation of web applications, front-end in TypeScript and React, back-end APIs in Golang
• Break ambiguous product goals into well-scoped pieces and ship them quickly
• Use AI coding tools to build fast, and review their output closely for correctness, security, and quality
• Plan robust and scalable system designs
• Engage in code reviews and uphold high engineering standards
• Stay current with new tools and bring the good ones into how we work
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver products on time
Hard skills
• Solid foundation in modern web development with TypeScript and React
• Comfortable across the stack, including backend APIs (we use Golang, but you can come in and learn)
• Hands-on proficiency with AI coding tools, and good judgment on when to trust or override them
• Strong fundamentals: able to read a diff, spot bugs, and verify AI-generated code
• Bonus: experience with smart contracts or web3 tooling
• Bonus: experience with GCP / AWS
Soft skills
• Bias to action: you ship, look at the result, and iterate quickly
• Product sense, so you can weigh in on what to build and why
• Taste and judgment: you can tell good code from code that merely runs
• Fast learner who picks up new tools and tech easily
• Attention to detail
