Sourcing Manager for General Merchandise

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Sourcing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and can add value through effective vendor management, strong market understanding, and efficient sourcing execution in the General Merchandise category.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end sourcing operations for the General Merchandise category, with a focus on Chinese suppliers.

• Travel to China when needed, such as to attend General Merchandise fairs or establish new supplier connections.

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business goals, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality assurance, and on-time delivery.

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with General Merchandise manufacturers and vendors, supporting effective negotiations on pricing, lead times, and service level agreements (SLAs).

• Monitor and analyze category performance, market trends, and competitor activities to inform sourcing and assortment decisions.

• Coordinate closely with internal teams (design, planning, logistics, and finance) to ensure smooth execution from concept to shelf.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, or buying—preferably in retail, trading, or sourcing offices within the General Merchandise industry.

• Strong experience in sourcing General Merchandise from China and managing supplier relationships.

• Proficient in English, both verbal and written.

• Fluent in spoken Mandarin (required); written Mandarin is a plus.

• Excellent negotiation skills, with a strong commercial and analytical mindset.

• Solid knowledge of product development, material sourcing, costing, and production timelines.

• Willing to be placed at our Head Office in Karawaci, Tangerang, and travel to China only as required for key sourcing activities or industry events.
