Water & Waste Engineer Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct lab-scale and field-scale experiments to develop, validate, and optimize water treatment technologies—including processes like membrane filtration, ion exchange, adsorption, advanced oxidation, and acid mine drainage treatment.

• Manage R&D or pilot project lifecycles: planning, execution, documentation, timeline tracking, and reporting.

• Prepare detailed technical reports, assessments, test findings, proposals, and presentations—both for internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Work closely with business or product managers to align R&D initiatives with market needs and strategic priorities.

• Provide technical support to internal teams and affiliated companies, offering expertise for product development, troubleshooting, and innovation.

• Stay informed of cutting-edge water treatment trends, sustainable practices, and emerging technologies to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• A bachelors or masters degree in relevant fields such as Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Water Science and Engineering, Environmental Science.

• Fundamental knowledge of water treatment methods (e.g., softening, membrane filtration, ion exchange) and mining-related water issues like acid mine drainage.

• Experience with CAD modeling and prototype design is often required. Some postings also mention familiarity with LabVIEW, VBA, or similar tools.

• Prior academic or industrial experience in R&D or test engineering, including experiment design, methodology development, and data reporting. Internships may also count in some cases.

• Strong aptitude in technical report writing, analysis of test data, documentation, and sometimes academic publication.
