Director Fleet

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Director Fleet to join PT Andalas Bahtera Baruna in our West Jakarta, Jakarta office. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic management and operations of our fleet of vessels, ensuring they operate efficiently, safely and in line with our companys objectives.

What youll be doing

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to optimise vessel performance and operational efficiency

• Oversee the maintenance, repair and upgrade of our fleet to maximise uptime and vessel lifespan

• Ensure full compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and industry standards

• Manage and mentor a team of maritime professionals to foster a culture of safety, innovation and continuous improvement

• Analyse operational and financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

• Collaborate cross-functionally with other department heads to align fleet activities with broader business goals

• Represent the companys interests in dealings with key industry stakeholders, partners and authorities

What were looking for

• Have an experience as Master for Ocean going

• Substantial experience in fleet or marine operations management, ideally within the shipping or logistics industry

• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing effective fleet management strategies

• In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, safety protocols and industry best practices

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in maritime studies, logistics, engineering or a related field
