JOB OVERVIEW

The HR Manager is responsible for both the strategic and operational aspects of human resources in a mining company. This role combines high-level strategic planning and leadership with hands-on management of HR functions to support the companys objectives and ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR Leadership

  1. Develop and Implement HR Strategies: Create and implement HR strategies that support the companys business objectives, focusing on talent management, organizational development, and workforce planning.

  2. Organizational Development: Drive initiatives to foster a positive company culture, improve employee engagement, and enhance overall organizational performance.

  3. Succession Planning: Identify and develop internal talent to ensure a robust pipeline for key positions within the company.

  4. Policy Development: Formulate, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.

  5. Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion within the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees. 

HR Management

  1. Recruitment and Selection: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.

  2. Performance Management: Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to ensure employees receive constructive feedback and development opportunities.

  3. Employee Relations: Address employee grievances and resolve conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.

  4. Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with company goals.

  5. Training and Development: Identify training needs and organize development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.

  6. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date records and preparing required reports.

  7. Health and Safety: Collaborate with the safety department to promote a safe working environment and manage health and safety programs.

  8. HR Metrics and Reporting: Track HR metrics and prepare reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

 Operational HR Duties

  1.  Day-to-Day HR Operations: Handle routine HR tasks such as employee record-keeping, benefits administration, and payroll processing.

  2. Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires and ensure smooth offboarding for departing employees.

  3. HRIS Management: Maintain and manage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for efficient data management and reporting.

  4. Employee Engagement: Organize and oversee employee engagement activities, fostering a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role. Experience in the mining or natural resources sector is highly desirable.

  • Skills: - Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices - Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite - Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

  • Willing to placement in Malinau, North Kalimantan.

Working Conditions
