QUANTITY SURVEYOR - INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION
Some of your duties will include:
· Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of quantity measurements and supporting the progress payment process submitted by Business Partners (Contractors) in the IFMS Infrastructure project. The Quantity Surveyor plays a key role in validating work volumes, supporting cost estimation activities, and verifying invoices to ensure alignment with contract terms, project specifications, and actual progress in the field.
· Prepare and calculate work quantities based on technical drawings, specifications, and actual field progress.
· Provide quantity data as a key input for the Project Estimator in budget preparation and tender evaluation.
· Update and revise quantity calculations periodically in line with design changes or actual work progress.
· Evaluate and verify invoices submitted by business partners to ensure alignment with physical progress, work quantities, and contractual terms.
· Maintain proper documentation of all quantity data and progress records for accountability and audit purposes.
· Coordinate with site teams, cost control, and the Project Estimator to ensure smooth administrative processing of payments.
· Provide reports or recommendations related to work quantities and invoice status to project stakeholders.
· Perform other duties related to quantity and billing as assigned by the Project Estimator or direct supervisor.
· Authorize the verification of calculated work quantities based on technical drawings, site conditions, and project specifications.
· Validate the claimed quantities of completed works as supporting data for contractor progress payments and project reporting.
· Approve material requirement estimations and verify actual usage against calculated needs.
· Recalculate and adjust work volumes in response to any revisions or modifications in shop drawings.
· Provide validated quantity records to support the Project Estimator in cost estimation, budget tracking, and tender evaluations.
· Recommend approval or revision of business partner invoices based on thorough verification of supporting documents and site verification.
· Other duties as assigned.
What skills and experience do you need?
· A bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, or any related discipline
· Have 5 years experience working in Quantity Surveyor is required; particularly within the project management or construction industry. Experience with project management, engineering, or construction is often preferred.
· Has ability to calculate areas (m²) for brickwork, plastering, tiling, roofing; to calculate volumes (m³) for concrete, screed, and earthworks; to calculate material weights (kg) for reinforcement, aluminum, and steel; to estimate material needs and verify usage against planned quantities.
· Skilled in comparing completed vs. remaining work volumes for scheduling and reporting; Capable of interpreting drawings, identifying revisions, and updating quantity calculations; Supports cost estimators with detailed quantity data during tenders and execution.
· Certification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Estimating preferred; Occupational Safety & Health certification required.
· Proficient in MS Excel, Word, basic quantity estimation, and documentation; AutoCAD or drafting tool knowledge is a plus.
· Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written; computer literate.
