External & Government Relations Specialist (Mining)

The opportunity

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective external and government relations strategies to support the companys mining activities

• Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance and advocate for the companys interests

• Monitor and analyse relevant legislation, policies, and regulations, and advise the management team on potential impacts and opportunities

• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders

• Collaborate with the communications team to develop and disseminate consistent messaging and content related to the companys external and government relations activities

• Identify and manage potential risks and issues that may impact the companys reputation or operations, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies

• Provide regular updates and reports to the management team on the companys external and government relations activities and performance

What were looking for

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field, such as public relations, political science, or communications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in external and government relations, preferably within the mining or energy sectors

• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively

• Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations governing the mining industry

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage risks and issues

• Fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
