Front of House Captain

At Pesona Lounge Ubud (restaurant), we believe hospitality is a team effort. No one person can carry the floor 24/7. Thats why were looking for a Front of House Captain, a vital second-in-command role that supports our Floor Supervisor and ensures our guests always feel the warm, vibrant Pesona vibe.

As Captain, youll:

  • Lead the team during service, keeping everything running smoothly.

  • Support the Floor Supervisor and step in when theyre not on shift.

  • Bring your own strengths to the team, helping us create memorable guest experiences.

Purpose of the Role

The Front of House Captain supports the Floor Supervisor in leading the front-of-house (FOH) team and ensuring every guest receives excellent service. Acting as “second in command” during service, the Captain guides the team, manages the floor when needed, and helps deliver the consistent hospitality experience that defines Pesona Lounge Ubud.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Leadership

  • Lead the FOH team during service, assisting with orders and supporting smooth operations.

  • Welcome and seat guests, ensuring a positive first impression.

  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues as needed.

  • Maintain a warm and engaging guest experience, with special care for repeat visitors.

Team Support & Training

  • Reinforce service standards and hospitality practices during shifts.

  • Support pre-shift briefings and help guide staff on specials, pairings, and service notes.

  • Mentor new staff and foster the “Pesona vibe” across the team.

Operations & Service Flow

  • Ensure tables, menus, ambiance, and service areas are guest-ready at all times.

  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to manage table flow.

  • Assist with end-of-shift duties, including reports, feedback, and handovers.

  • Monitor FOH stock levels during service and report shortages.

Qualities & Competencies

  • Experience in hospitality service, with leadership potential or prior team lead exposure.

  • Hands-on, proactive, and confident in guest-facing situations.

  • Calm and solutions-focused under pressure.

  • Strong communicator with both guests and staff.

  • Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.
