Technician - Control System
Perform routine and corrective maintenance on control systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS, sensors, transmitters).
Troubleshoot faults in control loops, communication networks, and instrumentation devices to minimize plant downtime.
Calibrate and configure field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new control systems and instrumentation.
Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance process stability and efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation including loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and calibration records.
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to support integrated maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with site safety standards, environmental regulations, and control system protocols.
Participate in shutdown planning and execution, including control system testing and validation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs.
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in control systems maintenance in mining or heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
Experience with calibration and troubleshooting of field instrumentation.
Familiarity with process control strategies and loop tuning.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and technical drawings.
Experience with DCS systems and advanced process control.
Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Safety-conscious with a proactive approach to risk management.
