Accounts Bookkeeper
About the Job:
This role is to maintain SalesPonds records of financial transactions, including but not limited to purchases, sales, invoices, receipts and payments by establishing accounts; posting transactions; and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
Ideally, this role is for someone who has confidentiality, excellent organisational skills and great attention to details as well as the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker who is reliable, able to work under pressure, punctual and committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Records day to day financial transactions and completes the posting process
- Verifies that transactions are recorded in the correct day book
- Checks and verifies source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
- Reconciles and balances all accounts
- Prepares and processes payroll
- Assists with budget preparation
- Brings the books to the trial balance stage
- Completes necessary tax forms for Australia when needed
- Enters data, maintains records and financial statements
- Processes accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
- Maintains good communication with Clients A/P
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information.
Must-Haves:
- 2-3 years solid work experience as a Bookkeeper
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
- Working knowledge of XERO accounting software
- Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
- Good understanding about taxation in Australia
- Excellent command of English both oral and written
- A Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business is required
