About the role

Nira Restaurant, a leading fine dining establishment in Badung, Bali, is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Baker to join our dynamic culinary team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our bakery operations, from the creation of exquisite pastries and breads to the management of the bakery team. Your expertise and passion for baking will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our discerning guests.

What youll be doing

  • Develop and execute innovative baking recipes that align with the restaurants culinary vision and brand identity
  • Manage the bakery team, including hiring, training, and supervising bakers and pastry chefs
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality, consistency, and food safety in all baked goods produced
  • Collaborate with the culinary leadership team to integrate bakery offerings into the overall menu
  • Oversee the purchasing, inventory management, and cost control of all baking-related ingredients and supplies
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement continuous improvements to bakery operations
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient bakery environment

    • What were looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Baker or in a similar senior baking role within a high-end restaurant or hotel environment
  • Formal culinary training and a strong understanding of baking science, techniques, and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and find solutions
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities to effectively manage and develop a talented bakery team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to ensure consistent quality and presentation of all baked goods
  • Passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients and creating unique, visually appealing pastries and breads
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
