About the roleThe Reliability Data Scientist plays a critical role within the Operations Excellence function by using data science to enhance the reliability of GroundProbes products and services. The role focuses on predictive maintenance, automation reporting, and data-driven decision-making to improve system performance and reduce downtime. This position works closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modelling to identify trends, predict failures, and recommend proactive maintenance actions—directly supporting GroundProbes reliability objectives, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
What you will be doing- Ensure personal and team compliance with all OH&S policies and procedures.
- Analyze large datasets from GroundProbes monitoring systems to uncover trends, insights, and recommendations to enhance product reliability.
- Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models and predictive maintenance algorithms to anticipate equipment failures and optimize performance.
- Automate reliability reporting to provide actionable insights to leadership, focusing on downtime reduction and predictive maintenance outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate predictive insights into field operations and customer support activities.
- Produce and present clear, data-driven reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity across CRM and monitoring systems to support predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in reliability KPIs by applying data science and advanced analytics.
- Support key initiatives within the Operations Excellence program aimed at improving care plans and care margin performance.
- Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, predictive maintenance, or reliability analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver predictive models that reduce downtime and enhance system reliability.
- Advanced proficiency in Python/R and data visualization tools
- Proven track record applying data science to predictive maintenance in operational environments
- Experience integrating data-driven reliability insights into maintenance and support programs
- Previous exposure to mining technology, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery (preferred)
- Good understanding of Mining Safety Management System Aspect by always prioritizing Safety Value.
