Tax Assistant Manager

We are currently embarking on our next stage of aggressive expansion which includes entry into additional markets within the region of South East Asia. We expect to quickly grow to >1,000 stores across the region and then potentially look at listing options.

We are looking for an Tax Manager to be based in our Jakarta to head the Tax Section. You shall report to the Indonesia Finance Team Lead who is based in Malaysia.

 Responsibilities include:

 Tax Assistant Manager.

1. Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all required tax returns (Monthly and Annual PPh, VAT, WHT 23/4(2)/26/21 , PB1, Signage tax, etc.)

  • Manage tax payments and monitor deadlines to avoid penalties.

  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather supporting documents for tax reporting.

  • Ensure all Tax Data and/or Documents has been archiving as well

2. Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the companys tax position in compliance with Indonesian regulations.

  • Monitor changes in local tax regulations and assess potential impact on the company.

  • Provide tax advisory for business operations, transactions, and new investments.

  • Ensure all local tax ID for all store properly registered

3. Tax Audit & Dispute Resolution

  • Handle tax audits and investigations by the Indonesian tax authorities (DJP).

  • Prepare necessary documentation and represent the company in tax dispute resolutions or appeals.

  • Maintain strong relationships with external consultants and tax authorities.

4. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Develop and improve internal tax processes and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Train and support internal teams on tax implications and proper documentation.

5. Other Tax Task

  • Send the WHT slips as requested by Supplier and Landlord.

  • Liaise with tax officer for Companys tax matter

6. Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a tax team (if any), including setting objectives and performance reviews.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Tax, or Master Degree in Tax/Accounting/Finance or related field.

  • Minimum 5-year experience in similar position, preferably has experience in tax consultant firm.

  • Experience in retail F&B.

  • Good Understand software from Tax Authorities (Core Tax & DJP).

  • Ability to conduct Transfer Pricing Documents and all supporting documents needed.

  • Ability to conduct Tax Equalization and Tax Reconciliation for both WHT and VAT.

  • Ability to conduct Monthly and Annually All Tax Compliance activities.

  • Understand about Tax Audit, Tax Objection, Tax Appeal, and Tax Supreme Court.

  • Understand about Local Tax such as withholding Tax (WHT) 23, 4(2), 26, 21, PB1 and Tax Signage.

  • Able to speak, write, read, and listen in English.

  • Attention to detail and analytical skill.

  • Hold Tax Brevet Certificate A, B, and C will be a plus.

  • Having knowledge of SAP system is an added advantage.
