ASSISTANT MANAGER TRUCKING

Job Description:

As an Assistant Manager Trucking, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing daily trucking operations to ensure maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service excellence. You will play a key role in vendor development, team supervision, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day trucking operations.

  • Monitor planning activities and fleet utilization to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with trucking vendors to enhance service quality.

  • Optimize trucking productivity through route efficiency and proper load planning.

  • Ensure excellent execution of all trucking operations.

  • Monitor trucking-related costs, particularly Uang Jalan (UJ), and eliminate unnecessary expenses.

  • Lead and develop the trucking team to improve performance and productivity.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Streamline operational processes and eliminate non-value-added activities (waste).

  • Prepare and review operational reports to track KPIs and identify improvement areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in trucking or logistics operations, with at least 3 year in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.

  • Strong understanding of fleet utilization, routing, logistics costs, and transport systems.

  • Experience working with transportation vendors, including negotiation and performance evaluation.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop operational teams.

  • Excellent cost control and problem-solving skills under pressure.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on process efficiency and optimization.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.

  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
