Assistant R&D Manager - Emulsion Polymerization

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Assistant R&D Manager with expertise in emulsion polymerization to join our team. In this role, you will drive product development, technical innovation, and customer-focused formulation projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge, hands-on experience in plant operations, and a collaborative approach to foster innovation and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, refine, and optimize emulsion polymer products tailored to customer needs and applications such as adhesives, paper coatings, and paints.

• Lead pilot trials, scale-up activities, and commissioning of new formulations.

• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities and provide technical assistance to customers.

• Troubleshoot application issues in the field and collaborate with operations to resolve production challenges, enhancing yield and quality.

• Support the development and optimization of laboratory infrastructure and production-scale equipment including reactors and process setups.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and quality standards including ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001.

• Mentor junior R&D staff and facilitate knowledge sharing across departments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (required).

• Minimum 10 years of experience in emulsion polymerization, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.

• Proven track record in product development, process engineering, and quality management within chemical manufacturing.

• Experience in customer support and cross-functional collaboration.

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of emulsion polymerization and formulation chemistry.

• Familiarity with applications in paints, adhesives, and paper coatings.

• Proficient in analytical and laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and DSC.

• Certifications or training in ISO standards, Six Sigma, and Halal product requirements are a plus.

Preferred Certifications:
