Engineering Manager

• Ensure conformity of all engineering activities with Company standards, procedures and policies and with laws, regulations and industry standards. 
• Develop appropriate construction methods together with appropriate plant selection and temporary work solutions.  
• Ensure temporary works designs are checked and verified.  
• Identify safety and environmental hazards that may arise during the fabrication, installation and use of temporary works. Design the temporary works to reduce to as low as reasonably practicable such as safety and environmental hazards.  
• Carry out temporary works designs in accordance with the appropriate requirements of the bids or projects.  
• Select, train, develop and coordinate engineering staff  
• Conduct engineering reviews of contracts in progress  
• Prepare engineering documentation and presentation material for pre-qualifications, bids and projects  
• Specify inspection and testing requirements for temporary works fabrication and installation.  
• Prepare relevant Construction Execution Procedures (CEPs) for project personnel and for submission to the Client.  
• Ensure project close out reports adequately address all historically relevant technical matters  
• Provide support to projects on construction (temporary and permanent works) details including drawing and technical documentation as required.  

• Perform scheduling and planning functions for bidding and site activities.  
• Determine and/or review inspection and test requirements for ITPs  
• Represent the Company on recognized technical bodies as/when opportunities arise that are relevant to the Companys business objectives  
• Oversee research of industry trends and new products and processes  
• Assist with business development initiatives and client liaison as required  
• Any other duties as may be required by the Company  

• Relevant Engineering qualification.  
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction industry with significant exposure to design, costing, estimating and planning  
• Pro-actively always builds good relationships with clients and reviews service levels to meet client expectations  
• Assertively persuades others to accept a proposed solution, or change their approach, by logically expressing ideas and opinions in order to achieve their goals.  
• Accurately estimates, prioritizes and delegates tasks to make most effective use of resources to achieve short- and long-term business goals.
