Senior High School Economics Teacher - Bandung

Global Prestasi School (GPS) - Bandung is looking for a qualified and responsible Economics Teacher to join our Senior High School team. This is a full-time position teaching Economics based on the Cambridge International Curriculum. Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, student-centered, and differentiated Economics lessons in accordance with the Cambridge International curriculum.

• Prepare students thoroughly for Cambridge examinations through structured revision sessions and practice assessments.

• Design lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations.

• Incorporate real-world case studies, data analysis, and economic modeling to deepen students understanding of economic concepts.

• Utilize ICT tools, simulations, and digital platforms to support innovative teaching methodologies and connect economic theories to current events.

Student Development & Assessment:

• Monitor and assess student performance regularly using formative and summative methods.

• Provide timely, constructive feedback and academic support to help students improve.

• Track academic progress, maintain accurate records, and report results to students and parents.

• Encourage critical thinking and analytical skills through debates, presentations, and group discussions on contemporary economic issues.

Pastoral & Classroom Management:

• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

• Implement effective behavior management strategies and classroom routines.

• Mentor students on academic and career goals related to economics, business, and related fields.

Curriculum & Professional Development:

• Participate in curriculum planning, subject meetings, and inter-departmental collaboration.

• Stay updated with the latest developments in the Cambridge International curriculum and modern pedagogy.

• Attend internal and external professional development workshops, including Cambridge certification training when required.

Extracurricular & School Engagement:

• Engage with the school community through events, parent-teacher meetings, and student progress conferences.

• Support students participation in economics competitions, Model UN debates, and entrepreneurship projects.

• Contribute to school activities that promote financial literacy and economic awareness.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Economics Education.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, online teaching tools, and basic design software (e.g., Canva).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the senior high school level is preferred.
