We Are Looking For:
As the Assistant Procurement Manager, you will drive procurement excellence for data centre development and operations through strong data analysis, market insight, and cross-Negara collaboration. You will work closely with Negara teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure cost competitiveness, lead time alignment, contractual clarity, data integrity, supplier reliability, and compliance with procurement governance. The role supports procurement strategy by providing data-driven insights for critical equipment sourcing, including power systems, cooling infrastructure, IT hardware, and facility construction components—enabling cost optimisation, uptime, scalability, and expansion delivery.
Your Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain procurement spend dashboards and MIS reports, including trackers for savings, lead times, open requisitions/open purchase orders, and supplier performance KPIs.
- Build and maintain procurement cost models for major data centre infrastructure components (e.g., power systems, cooling, IT hardware, facility construction packages), and support budget tracking with the Procurement Lead.
- Conduct purchase price variance (PPV), total cost of ownership (TCO), and price benchmarking analyses to identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities; support cost savings projects as needed.
- Support and/or lead RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes for data centre projects (including emerging markets): coordinate requirements, evaluate commercial proposals, and contribute to supplier selection and award recommendations.
- Perform supplier performance and risk analysis; manage supplier onboarding/registration and maintain supplier master data integrity.
- Support procurement planning for data centre build and operational needs to ensure materials availability, lead time alignment, and continuity of supply to protect uptime and scalability.
- Perform contract and commercial analysis, including contract validation and commercial reviews, and coordinate with Legal and stakeholders to ensure contractual clarity and risk coverage.
- Drive procurement data digitalisation and continuous improvement across processes, tools, and reporting; support advanced analytics and the adoption of Power BI (or similar tools) where applicable.
- Collaborate with projects, engineering, legal, finance, operations, and business development teams; coordinate meetings with technical teams and/or vendors, and document and track outcomes.
- Contribute to global procurement governance, ESG initiatives, negotiation and benchmarking support, supplier issue management, and dispute resolution as required.
Qualities You Should Have
- Bachelor’s degree is required (preference for Accounting / Industrial Engineering). Post-graduation with an Engineering background (Mechanical/Electrical) is an advantage.
- 5–7 years’ relevant experience within supply chain and/or procurement is required, with 2–3 years of data centre procurement experience preferred; total work experience of 7+ years is preferred.
- Prior experience in project and/or operations procurement; experience in an MNC and/or a data centre Perusahaan procurement function is an advantage.
- Prior experience working in a Big 4 firm is required.
- Strong analytical capability across cost modelling, PPV, TCO, benchmarking, and procurement reporting; able to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to impact and influence across cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Negotiation, planning, and organizing skills; assertive, confident, and delivery-focused in a fast-paced project environment.
- Familiar with local infrastructure vendors and working knowledge of project procurement and construction within the data centre domain.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiar with ERP systems (Oracle/SAP/NetSuite or similar). Exposure to Power BI or similar tools is an advantage.
- Limited in-Negara travel may be required; expected to work additional hours as needed by project/operational demands
