Safety Officer
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant working environment in our carrageenan production facility. This is a key role that promotes a culture of safety, supports compliance with local regulations, and helps prevent workplace incidents. ๐ Job Description:As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring workplace conditions, enforcing safety protocols, and supporting health and environmental initiatives to meet both local regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and internal safety policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits across plant operations.
Identify unsafe practices or hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Lead and document incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Provide safety training, tool box talks, and orientation for employees and contractors.
Maintain accurate records of safety programs, audits, incidents, and inspections.
Support emergency response planning, fire drills, and evacuation procedures.
Ensure compliance with Indonesian labor and environmental regulations (K3, KLHK, etc.).
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Coordinate with local authorities for permits, certifications, or reporting as needed.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in an HSE-related role, preferably in the manufacturing, food processing, or chemical industry.
Skills & Competencies:
Solid knowledge of Indonesian occupational safety regulations (UU No. 1 Tahun 1970, Permenaker, K3 standards).
Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to train, coach, and influence plant personnel.
Proficient in MS Office and safety documentation/reporting tools.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple safety tasks across departments.
Certified K3 Umum (Ahli K3 Umum) or related safety certification in Indonesia.
Experience in food-grade manufacturing environments with HACCP, ISO, or GMP standards.
Familiarity with emergency preparedness and chemical safety procedures.
